Moonlighting Landscape & Design started as a part time endeavor fueled by the interests of some homeowners in the Pocono Mountains. My background in landscaping began in 1989 when I relocated to the Poconos from NJ I took a position with a landscape firm local to the area. I will say that the most significant thing I learned from this first experience was what not to do. Fortunately for the homeowners, the firm went belly up and I moved on. I accepted a job in the wholesale nursery industry. As the manager of the nursery, I learned a great deal about design, plant location, propagation, and over all plant knowledge. After six years in the nursery field I slowed down my pace and took a position as the Assistant Manager of the Grounds department for Skytop Lodge in the Poconos.
After a few years of making landscape improvements at the resort some of the homeowners became interested in consulting me about their own landscapes. I realized that consulting was leading to installing and Moonlighting was born. After three years as a part time business the demand became to great to continue on a part time basis. So in May of 2000, I left the resort industry to pursue my own business full time. Since 2000 I have acquired a fantastic team of professional installers and have continued to peek the interests of homeowners who love their homes and the properties surrounding them.
